Bocas del Toro is a region formed by an archipelago, off the Caribbean coast, famous for its tropical forest. Discovered in 1502 during Christopher Columbus' fourth trip, cocoa is harvested by small farmers from the NgöbeBuglé indigenous community. Cocoa trees grow among laurels, peaches and banana trees in a varied agroforestry system.
