The DNA of MP Crafted Garments is high quality socks with a clear Scandinavian design reference.
In modest basement premises at his grandmother’s property in Herning, entrepreneur Martin Pedersen began his career as a textile producer.
The factory has a single knitting machine and Martin’s father is skeptical. As a farmer he believes his three children’s future lies in farming and he’s certainly not impressed by this industrial adventure, which he describes as a “doubtful affair”.
The factory develops rapidly. The company Martin Pedersen A/S is set up as a limited liability company and shortly afterwards Martin builds his first proper factory in the small town of Tjørring outside Herning in Denmark. This factory later becomes a garage for his private residence, which is built on the same plot of land a few years later.
TODAY - MP is still located in the middle of Jutland, Herning, Denmark and most of the knitting machines have been moved to Latvia (EU) to reduce production and labor cost, but MP still have full functioning and active vintage knitting machines in the production hall in Denmark.
Production samples are made on location in Herning. Just a few minutes after our designers finishes the designs we are able to run it through the knitting machines and have a production warm sample in hand less than 30 min after. That makes us capable of making constant ajustments until things turn out perfect in look and feel.
No over sea shipments, long waiting times and slow quality approvals. If we can think it - we can make it on the spot. This process offers enormous creative freedom and quality control.
Technical drawings, design, administration, finance, warehouse and logistics are also located at the factory in Denmark.
The heritage of Martin Pedersen is still taken well cared of now and in the future.
